About Us
[718]cares Inc. is a Brooklyn-based 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to empowering youth through mentorship, education, career exposure, wellness initiatives, and community-centered programming.
Our mission is to provide young people — particularly those from underserved or historically under-resourced communities — with access to opportunities, guidance, and experiences that help build confidence, creativity, leadership skills, and long-term career pathways.
Rooted in community connection, [718]cares develops programs that blend education, wellness, entrepreneurship, beauty industry exposure, and personal development in safe, supportive, and inspiring environments designed to help young people thrive.

Beauty Camp
Beauty Camp is [718]cares' annual free immersive youth program serving participants ages 12–16 throughout Brooklyn.
The program introduces students to the worlds of beauty, wellness, entrepreneurship, creativity, and self-expression through hands-on learning experiences led by beauty professionals, educators, mentors, and industry partners.
Participants engage in workshops and experiences focused on:
- Hairstyling and textured hair education
- Makeup artistry and skincare
- Branding, marketing, and entrepreneurship
- Professional development and confidence-building
- Teamwork, leadership, and career exploration
The program is designed to provide meaningful career exposure, mentorship, technical skill development, and confidence-building opportunities while helping young people envision broader possibilities for their futures.

Current Beauty Camp needs include approximately:
- 25 mannequin heads
- Styling tools and brushes
- Sectioning clips and salon training materials
- Textured hair mannequins and educational products
